Will You Help Save A Kenyan Family?

Jan. 7. 2008--Lusaka, ZAMBIA

I am in Zambia and scheduled to travel to Nairobi next week to tend to our programs there. However, if it's not safe, I'll stay in Zambia, where our women's poultry co-op has been launched. There is much good work to be done here; Zambia historically is a much more peaceful country.

Solar Stove Project, in Naivasha

We started the solar stove project, in Naivasha.  I had squash that was cooked in the solar stove and it was delicious!  And we pasteurized water with no difficulty in little time.  All are eager to pursue this project, as with the troubles, firewood and charcoal are more difficult to come by.  How positively stupid that homes and possessions are being burned wantonly!

UPDATE FROM AFRICA 1/28/08

HARAMBEE projects have now begun in Zambia.  There is a women's co-operative poultry project in Nyimba and a new craft initiative in Petauke.  Church groups have formed to help the hundreds of HIV orphans in this small town, and they are desperately looking for ways to care for these children.
