Could you walk through this to get to your home every day?  The slums have no running water, no electricity, no sanitary facilities.  Streets are a morass of mud, garbage, and sewage.  The land is government owned, but the government provides no services.  Those with money bribe city officials for permission to construct mud and stick shacks, which are then rented to those who can afford nothing better.
